Accreditation

The Department of Health Administration and Policy has the following accreditation from outside agencies for the following programs:

The master of health administration in health systems management is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). The United States Department of Education and Council on Higher Education Accreditation have granted formal recognition to CAHME as the only organization to accredit master's level health care management programs in the United States and Canada. This program has also received Full Certified Graduate Membership within the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA).

The bachelor of science in health administration has received Full Certified Undergraduate Membership within AUPHA.

The master of science in health informatics is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). CAHIIM is an independent accrediting organization whose mission is to serve the public interest by establishing and enforcing quality accreditation standards for health informatics and health information management educational programs. 

Additionally, George Mason University’s Master’s degree in Health Informatics is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). CEPH accreditation ensures quality in public health education and training, promoting excellence in practice, research, and service.
