The Assisted Living/Senior Housing Administration concentration in the Health Administration, BS program allows students to complete one-of-a-kind internships that provide application of course concepts in a real world environment, add to the student's professional experience, and provide networking and career opportunities. Internships have been completed in more than 60 locations throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, nationally, and even internationally.
Senior Housing Internships: These internships can most benefit students with little or no previous experience in health care or senior housing. Structured, 16-week experiences can be completed with some of the industry's leading providers of senior housing services, as well as national associations, regulatory, consumer, or other senior housing-related organizations.
Hospitality Services Internships: These innovative internships are designed for students with previous senior housing health care experience, but little or no experience in hospitality services. Completed through a special arrangement with the Walt Disney World College Partner program in Orlando, Florida, students accepted for this one-semester internship complete both work experience and American College of Education approved coursework within hospitality management areas of the Walt Disney World Resort.
