ARCHIVED Course Sequence (On-Campus)

On-campus Program

Courses for the on-campus MS in Health Informatics are taught in the afternoons and evenings on the Fairfax Campus, and some courses are also available online.

Completion of the on-campus program typically requires 2 years full-time and 2.5-3 years part-time, depending on course load.

The following suggested course sequences below refer to the on-campus program. Courses offered may vary from semester to semester. Selected courses are also offered in summers to allow students to complete the program in a shorter time. Contact your advisor to plan your program of study.

Most courses should be taken in order, and some required courses are available only in the spring or fall semesters. Examples of both full- and part-time course sequences are available. Students are not required to strictly follow one of these sequences as long as course prerequisites are satisfied. Students can complete their degree at their own pace provided that they do so within six years of starting the program.

All students are assigned graduate advisors who are also faculty in the program. Your advisor will help select the best courses to benefit your future career, and will help plan the most optimal course sequence.
