Alison Cuellar, associate professor in the Department of Health Administration and Policy, has been selected to serve on the Institute of Medicine (IOM) Committee, Community Based Solutions to Promote Health Equity in the United States.
The 19-member committee will review the state of health disparities in the U.S. and examine community-based solutions that address health inequities. In its final report, which is tentatively scheduled to be released at the end of 2016, the committee will recommend short- and long-term strategies and solutions for communities to expand and advance health equity, and will recommend key research needs to identify and strengthen evidence-based solutions that will reduce health disparities.
