Curriculum Information
The program curriculum, including short descriptions of the required courses, is available in George Mason's University Catalog.
Students enrolled in other Mason graduate programs can “double-count” credits in the certificate program and their degree program as long as there is an overlap.
This certificate qualifies for Title IV Federal Financial Aid. For more information about our graduation rates, the median debt of students who completed the program, and other important information, please visit the Gainful Employment Disclosure Template.
Opportunities
The certificate coursework stresses the use of data analytics to model outcomes and quality of health care services. It is typically pursued by individuals who already have an advanced degree and don't need to pursue a full MS in health informatics. Many students enrolled in other Mason graduate programs enroll in the certificate in addition to their primary area of study.
The certificate is ideal for two groups of individuals:
- Clinicians, health care managers and population health individuals who want to learn data science, machine learning, and analytics skills applied in their areas of expertise.
- IT professionals who are new to the health care community and want to learn about specifics of health data and health analytics.
